Plymouth Pod #13

This week in Plymouth

Hi All! I hope everyone is having a great week. Before we get into it, just one quick little itsy bitsy thing…Please keep sharing this newsletter with friends and/or enemies, thanks 🙏

Earlier this month, we announced the Plymouth Pod Discount Card, and the feedback has been awesome - the next step is partnering with local businesses to offer one-time discounts for the first edition of the card. We're securing the remaining partners, but I’m excited to announce the latest addition to the pod card…Drum roll please...

Charcarterie Co.

We’re continuing conversations with more businesses and will announce new partners as they join in.

Alright, let’s get into it!

The Jabez Howland House is the only remaining home in Plymouth where Mayflower Pilgrims actually lived. Built around 1667 and purchased by Jabez Howland—son of John and Elizabeth Howland—the house was sold in 1680 and remained a private residence until 1912, when it was acquired by the Pilgrim John Howland Society. Now a museum and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, it features 17th-century furnishings, artifacts from archaeological digs, and family documents, including correspondence from Franklin D. Roosevelt and Winston Churchill. The house reopens for tours in June (info).

Get ready for some stellar sights! The Moon is shining bright at 92.9% (waning gibbous), but it won’t spoil the show—the Lyrid meteor shower peaks around April 22, and the Moon won’t rise until just before dawn. Venus and Mars are putting on a solid display, while early risers might catch Mercury, Saturn, or even Neptune (binoculars recommended!). Sunset is at 7:23 pm, and night stretches just over 10.5 hours. So grab a blanket, look up, and enjoy the spring sky!
